So we dropped Outlaw on the red label not too long ago, and that project was not only a big secret but also the purest labor of love I have ever created. I've been a wrestling fan for as long as I can remember, the craft of wrestling is engrained in me at this point in my life. But when watching wrestling a lot these days, I'm often left either dissatisfied or just needing something more.
I was also a huge degrassi fan growing up, but I never really figured I could write that kind of show. As me and Kev created this wonderful world where wrestling is treated like a real competition sport, I got to blend so many things into this world I love while also satisfying whatever was missing in my usual pro rassle diet.
What did you guys think of Outlaw if you(hopefully) checked it out? And what are you looking forward to most from the first season?

I also spent years unable to wrangle a good wrestling script, and honing my skills away from the area of ensemble primetime soaps.
Turns out if you put together two people who never could have written Outlaw on their own, you get Outlaw. Who knew.

Yeah I think I've enjoyed the most when we were piecing together characters and movesets that felt authentic. Bouncing ideas and storylines for Outlaw is literally the highlight of my days right now. And its especially easy because I've imagined a wrestling degrassi since I was like 12, and now its here!

Its really fun and really hard balancing relationships on this show. Its a riot though because I get the chance to try and sift through the feelings these characters should be going through as they all go through this crazy period in their lives.
The character I am having the most fun writing at the moment is Sana Khan. To me in my head, she's a mix of io shirai and Sasha Banks, with a personality very much her own. I love writing a top female wrestler in the middle of her journey to become the best in the world.

So many people ostensibly in the same place, ostensibly with the same goals...
It's amazing how very different they all are.
Only that one scene left. I'll have the full rough of Sausage Maker to you tomorrow, and this time I mean it!

I have this comic book series that Image had out called Ringside set in and out of the world of wrestling. I even watched GLOW S1 and liked it seeing the world of wrestling behind the scenes. I don't watch wrestling much anymore due to storylines and lack of interest.
I like to try my hand at a wrestling series project myself but with all women.

So far I've been thinking of it as either
"Cold-Blooded Sausage Maker"
or
"The Cold-Blooded Sausage Maker"
Can't decide if we should use the definite article or not.
As always, title subject to change.
