Hourman Sandman Doctor Mid-Nite Spectre
I also like the idea of (much like Hipolyta and mama Canary filling those spots) Captain Marvel filling the Supes spot.

Hourman Sandman Doctor Mid-Nite Spectre I also like the idea of (much like Hipolyta and mama Canary filling those spots) Captain Marvel filling the Supes spot. Captain Marvel was one of several Fawcett characters that had cliffhanger serials in the 40's, and I'm toying with idea, if I survive the JSA one, maybe a sequel featuring them as a team.

So, checked out a couple sites about script format and after a little study, it's not as daunting as I'd first worried.
Plus, since none of my stuff is intended to be professional scripts, I won't feel too guilty if I cheat little or deviate from 'THE RULES'.
Besides the cliffhanger serial, I have three other ideas with potential: a live action, an animated and one I'm still undecided on where it would best fit.
Once, I get caught up on my other stuff, I start pitching etc. So, that may be my winter project

Deviating from "the rules" because you don't care about selling your script is THE BEST.

It's nice because I'm learning something new, but at the same time it isn't a huge stresser I do fanfic for fun and to distract from that pesky being an adult stuff.
When I want to write and stress myself out, I try to write something to get published.

Thought for the day: Maybe set up an anthology for the TV imprints, like the old Hanna-barberra shows, so people could do try outs or ideas that aren't big enough for a series...?
Asking for a friend.

I have been writing the first "Future Quest" story, but I might have to rework it a bit.

wasn't thinking technically of the HB characters, but just that kind of format for DC/Marvel cartoons

I think basically anything that doesn't take place in the shared live-action universe can go under Animation. One-shots, shorts, OVAs, animated films, anything. In a way, the Animation sub-imprints kindof /are/ the Tales of's.

Okay. I had a couple ideas that really weren't enough to be a series, but if we are going with the netflix model of 'a season is however many episodes you want', I can work with that.

Yup yup. You can do even less than that if you want, like a made for TV movie or a two night event or something. Or a random half hour special.

So, I had a bunch of scribbled ideas for Lobster Johnson. Good 30's pulp stuff.
Then they did the one shot about the masked Lucha wrestler version of the Lobster...!
I hate when my brain does this to me! I now have a complete opening scene for my story!

The Prestige imprint is cool, but like with slice of life, I can't find a franchise that want all to myself. I think I like the mix and match aspect too much. Or maybe since my tastes run to the fringe/obscure franchises, I don't really think the ones I pick I'll ever have to fight for.
Course, now that I've said that, I'll think of something.

Prestige needs no dibs. If you got a title you want to do, and you don't wanna connect it up to any other titles, there's a spot in PI for it.
I'm doing Beyond Enterprise right now (a sequel to the Scott Bakula Star Trek), but if you wanted to do a gritty reboot of Enterprise, also on the Prestige Imprint, you could totally go for it. The walls of separation between titles there means that nobody needs to call dibs, because nothing anyone writes can affect anyone else's story.
You could even mix and match IPs, if you want. Alan Moore's LXG for instance, would be right at home on the Prestige Imprint.
As far as I'm concerned, I haven't /really/ dibsed any IPs at all, because I don't have that power. I just ask that if someone writes an IP that I am already writing, they make sure not to set it in a shared reality with mine.

I'm doing King of the Monsters, as I wanted to do a better kaiju battle story with all the Toho monsters even Ultraman and Gamera. I might do a TMNT series in the Prestige Imprint as I may restart my All-New TMNT series from years back.
